In my post, Your Password to Getting What You Want in 2015 I wrote about keeping your goals in the form of a password to the sites you visit often so that you keep your goals in front of you daily. I also wrote about adopting a signature song that reminds of you of what you want to do or be in the next year in my post Are You Walking on Sunshine?
Here is another easy way to keep your goals front and center so that as the months roll around, you will be regularly reminded of what you hope to accomplish. Yes, everyone tells you that to achieve your goals you have to write them down. I take that one step further, you have to think about your goals every day!
You have probably heard of vision boards, where people create a poster or bulletin board to visualize their goals. Here are some examples:
Here is a new twist on the vision board idea. If you keep a glass of water, coffee or tea with you most of the day, create a vision beverage cup. Two years before I got up the courage to quit my job, sell my house and move to a new city I created this mug. I carried it with me in my car every day as I drove to and from work.
The beverage cup holds a paper template. You can use photos or as I did, just make a collage of words and images that represent where you want to go in the next year. If my collage, below, looks a little shop worn, it is because it has been washed every day for the past two years!
I’m in the process of creating a new vision mug for my goals in 2015. I will use my new cup to drink more water, one of my goals for this year. How about you?
